This is a collection of photographs and related notes from a study tour organized by International Seminar Design, Inc., at the request of instructor Michael Di Giovine of the Graham School of the University of Chicago. The study tour commenced December 5, 2009, in Mumbai, and ended December 20, 2009, in New Delhi. It was primarily intended for students of the Asian Classics program in the Graham School of the University of Chicago, but was open to others as well.
Michael Di Giovane and Madan Vishwakarma served as our national guides in India, supplemented by local subject experts at many locations. Sinead Walshe, of International Seminar Design, handled organization and logistics, and kept us on time.
21 other travelers (including me) joined Michael, Madan and Sinead for the tour.
My thanks go to Michael, Madan and Sinead for making the tour so interesting and worthwhile.
Almost all of these photographs were taken with a Canon EOS-5D Mark II camera, usually with an EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens; a few others were taken with a Canon SD800 camera.
