Beyond Nice: Cote d'Azur and Monaco
On our last day, we drop off one traveler and pick up another at the airport in Nice, then take the D6007 motorway along the French Riviera (Cote d'Azur) past Villefranche-sur-Mer to Monaco and Monte-Carlo.

Monaco
Port Hercule Yacht Harbor at Monaco, with Monte-Carlo beyond. Use the slider to pan across the panoramic view below.
We have lunch at a restaurant next to the harbor, near "Femme Habillee", 2003 by Columbian sculptor Fernando Botero, whose sculptures are found in many parts of Monaco. Left to right at the table are John, Laurie, Doreen and Radu.
After lunch we begin climbing up toward the palace. Looking back, we see the promenade between Boulevard Albert I and the harbor.
Palais Princier.
La Condamine district (with red roofs, and inclusive of the harbor itself); beyond is Monte-Carlo at right, and Moneghetti at left.
Monaco has the highest population density of any country. These apartments are in the "new quarter" area of Moneghetti.
Monaco-Ville, the old town of Monaco, directly across Place du Palais from the palace itself.
Monte Carlo and Roquebrune-Cap-Martin
Above, Monte-Carlo is seen from the roadway near Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. The Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel and Resort is seen below.
