A Fortnight in Oxford
The University of Chicago annually offers a program called "A Fortnight in Oxford", whereby students may go to the University of Oxford and take a two-week course in history or literature. I decided to participate in this program in 2011, choosing a literature course on the Wessex novels of Thomas Hardy.
This was not primarily a photographic trip, but of course part of the "Fortnight in Oxford" experience is to become acquainted with the City of Oxford itself, with its university, 36 colleges and many historic buildings and cultural institutions. So I took a few pictures while at Oxford, and humbly present some of them here.
These photographs were taken with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera, using Canon EF 24-105mm 1:4 L IS USM and EF 17-40mm 1:4 L USM lenses, and also a Canon G11 camera in some spots.
The brief descriptions on these pages are not intended to be complete subject matter references, but merely to bring out a few interesting facts.
