Late in the morning we stop to explore this village and meet some of its residents. The village is primarily a fishing village, but the women also weave a unique kind of traditional shawl. As usual we are welcomed by an enthusiastic throng of children and villagers.
Homes are constructed of poles and mats, often over water. Some have fish net fence enclosures, such as this one.
The woman at left models traditional dress, including a shawl like those being offered for sale nearby.
Here, as at most of the villages we visit, gifts of basic medicines are provided to the villagers. Above, our guide May makes sure the village headman and his wife understand what they are for, and what dosages are appropriate.
Then we depart to continue our journey to Mrauk_U.
