We get underway about 8AM at Sittwe. Here, the Kaladan River is very wide -- more like a sea than a river.

The interior of our craft is a bit crowded, but functional, and (mostly) shielded from the blazing sun.

Laung Shay Chaung Mro Village

Around 11:30AM we reach this village and go ashore to have a look. Photos appear on a separate web page (following this one).

Arriving at Mrauk-U

By the time we reach Mrauk-U (2PM), we are on Aungdat Creek, a tributary of a tributary of the Kaladan. At Mrauk-U we go around the bend just beyond the canoe (above, left) and dock at the jetty of our hotel, the Mrauk-U Princess.
